Psychological support is more important than the maternity bag when the baby is birth | MOMSANDCHILD

Kids are a living gift from God, and you giving them a good and comfortable life is considered a very difficult challenge, due to what you go through in the period of pregnancy, this challenge becomes harder with the approach of baby birth, and ends completely by seeing a piece of “your” in your hands, which symbolizes your love for your husband, and becomes another reason for you to live, and to see him growing up and succeeding in this life.
This piece of you makes you proud of yourself, and in everything, you have been through, because he deserves what you gave. Here is what you need to know and do when your baby is coming soon:

Maternity bag:

Here is what you need to know while you’repacking a hospital bag for you and your baby:

1-For the mother

You must obtain your complete medical file to make it easier for doctors to view your records to facilitate your entry and speed up your birth procedures.
Dressing gown: is a soft dress that will help and comfort you while you are in the hospital if you have to stay in it for a period.
Socks: Most mothers feel cold in their feet, so having warm socks helps you a lot
Slipper or flip-flops: are comfortable and easy to take off from your feet, as you need them while walking around the ward or in the bathroom.
Lip Moisturizer: Your lips may be chapped during labor, so you will need some lip moisturize.
Massage oil: Like most mothers, you may need some massage for relaxation, so put some lotion and ointment in your bag.
Comfortable pillows: most of the time the hospital provides them, but if you are sensitive, you can take your ownones.
Sleepwear: Choose one soft and wide garment that it has a front opening if you plan to breastfeed, to ensure yourself a comfortable sleep while you’re in the hospital.
Heavy-duty maternity pads: Although the hospital will provide you some, you must pack a lot of them because you will bleed a lot after delivery, and this is a very normal thing. You may need to change the pad every one hour to two hours, but within few days, the bleeding will decrease.
Underwear: Pack several pairs of them, and make sure that they are large enough for the sanitary pad so as you be comfortable.
Bras: Ones that are comfortable and convenient.
Toiletries:Don't forget about towels, napkins, hair brush, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, face wash, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, hair ties, and a plastic bag to pack dirty clothes.
Phone and charger: So that you can keep in touch with your loved ones and take your first memorial photos with your baby.

2-For the baby

As for your child’s bag, your doctor will give you advice about what newborns need to wear, but you have to know that hospital policies may differ, so you should see them in advance.
Socks and booties.
Blanket:The hospital can provide you with this, but you may need it to keep your child warm in the car seat on the way home.
Diapers: Made especially for newborn babies.
Wipes: Made of cotton only because the skin of newborn babies is too sensitive.
Muslin squares.

Important mechanisms to prepare for baby birth:

The preparation for baby birth  should be four weeks before the date predicted, and psychological preparation is very important to you.
Here are some of the mechanisms that will help you in this
Regular exercises under the supervision of your doctor isbest way to give birth without too much painas it will help to strengthen your muscles, prepare your body for future births, increase your body tolerance and support your uterus, and you can see the commonly used techniques such as:

1-Lamaze technique

It is the most common method in the United States of America that works on reducing the perception of pain in mothers and encouraging the practice of relaxation, massage and breathing exercises by a support coach.

2- Bradley technique (also called the birth of a husband)

It supports the participation of the child's father as a coach. The goal here is to avoid medications unless they are necessary and also focus on good nutrition, exercise during pregnancy, relaxation, and deep breathing techniques...
Medicine-free methods for treating pain include yoga, hypnosis, walking, meditation, massage, showering with music (massage or counter pressure), role-playing.

Support of the husband

Dear woman, supporting yourself in this period is very important and the support of your husband gives you more strength.
These are some pieces of advice for dads during labor:

1-Energy and vitality

You must remain active and ready, because if the pain appears, the mother focuses on protecting her baby, but the father’s task here is to protect them both (his wife and his baby).

2- Readiness:

Make sure to keep the hospital bag ready.
Make sure that there is a spare vehicle in a dedicated place.
        Keep your phone charged.
You must be ready at any time to go to the hospital.
You should check the traffic on all roads leading to the hospital and specify how long it takes to reach it using each road in order to choose the right path when symptoms appear.
Prepare the hospital phone number to inform them of your wife’s condition so that the medical staff can prepare before your arrival.
The most important thing is that you keep calm.

3- Support

Encourage your wife and always reminded her that she is strong and that she can succeed, remind her that you love her and your baby, and that she will be the most wonderful mother in the world.

4-massage

Try to pat your wife’s shoulder. Hold her hand and wipe on her shoulder. It’s okay to prepare a shower for her and always stay with her.

How do you deal with labor at home? (How to prepare for normal delivery ?)

You have to be mentally prepared for labor, which is, regular contractions that begin to increase in strength, if you feel the pain in labor while you are at home you should:

1- Ignore and relax

Try to ignore the pain and take a rest because you will need energy for what is coming. Take a deep breath and do not panic.

2- Check the availability of all the things that you need

Check the hospital's items to make sure that all of whatwas mentionedabove is present.

3- Use pictures and visualization

Focus on something that makes you happy (like your partner's face, an inspiring picture, or anything that you like) to engage your senses and reduce your awareness of pain, listen to music, a soothing sound or a recording of the ocean waves, and visualize yourself in a comfortable place.

4- Take a warm bath

A warm bath can calm you down, especially if you can sit in a chair and direct a handheld shower head to your stomach or back. Bathing with warm water may relax you - and it may increase labor speed.

5- Keep moving

Move as much as possible to stay more comfortable, and try to find a position that relaxes you.

6- Use warm or cold compresses

Place a warm pack on the lower abdomen, thigh, lower back, or shoulders during labor. Fill a long sock with uncooked rice and heat it in the microwave for about a minute, then put it on your stomach (making sure it's not too hot). If it becomes cold then reheat in the microwave, a cold packaging or latex glove filled with ice flakes can calm the painful areas, but avoid using it on the abdomen, cold fabric relieves sweating on the face, chest, or neck.

7- Use a gentle touch or a massage on your own or with the help of your husband

Touching transmits care and love, whether it is someone holding your hand, wiping your cheek or hair, or patting your hand or shoulder. Ask your partner to massage you gently with oil or lotion to help calm you. You can also put three tennis balls in a tube sock and have your partner move them up and down your back to relieve back pain, or have him rub your back with his hand.

8: Try pressure therapy

Use pressure therapy to help relieve pain by pressing the fat part of your hand between your thumb and forefinger. Don't do this before going into labor, as it can also stimulate contractions.
